“Yahweh, truly I am your servant. The son of your handmaid, You have freed me from my chains.”

Chapter One: Preface

We were just finishing up our worship, praise and intercession in meeting many years ago. There were still about twenty people lingering around and fellowshipping. I was at the entrance to our ministry center. There are some glass sliding doors that were open and I turned as there was a loud screaming. I ran to the sound about fifteen feet from me. There was a young teenager sitting on a plastic chair, a group of people surrounding her and one of our experienced workers was there praying for the girl with hands on her head. I began to pray, not touching the girl. I made sure to protect my groin and watching for any violent responses. The worker pulled out some anointing oil and was casting out a spirit. The girl began to scream again and was vomiting too. I stood next to the worker and she acknowledged me and I motioned for her to continue. I was led by the Holy Spirit to wait until the worker was done. When the worker finally let her go and left, I took command authority of the situation in the name of Jesus and had everyone move away. I addressed the girl with clear tones and asked her to say these words: “I love Jesus.” and “Jesus is Lord.” She calmed down and said the words in a mumbled way, I repeated the command and then she said the words with tears in her eyes and her body began to soften. I shared with her who is Lord and King, Jesus Christ, and reminded her that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and not a spirit of confusion or torment. I also reminded her who's voice she needed to listen too, the voice of her Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and then prayed for her for deliverance and infilling of the Holy Spirit where that demon had been vanquished from. I bound the spirit to outer darkness and then I counseled everyone there about how they should have conducted the situation. (i.e. take the person to a safe room, and make sure very few people are there only the experienced people to intercede and also minimizing the risk of injury to the person who is oppressed and those who are there to help pray.

We have great authority in the name of Jesus and His blood, but it is not a carnival side show or circus. We preserve the dignity of the person, even when the demon is trying to get attention. We command the demon to shut up in Jesus name. We are not demon slayers or Van Hellsing wannabes. Jesus has given us this authority for a purpose, to bring His love and to set the captives free and save the lost. We are now the LIGHT OF THE WORLD UNTIL HE RETURNS. The difficulty is that the doctrine of spiritual warfare and the theology associated with the ministry has been treated like a snake oil salesman or a carnival side show and not one of the main ministries of the Great Commision. Jesus was clear with the disciples in Luke Chapter Nine about our joint ministry in reaching out to the captives and healing the sick:

1 He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 3 He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey—neither staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats apiece. 4 Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there. 5 As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”

6 They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing everywhere. WEB

Generational curses, demons, divination, false prophets, bad habits, bad character, psychological mumbo jumbo are all real problems. They are real --- really! We love to blame the devil for everything that happens, but he is not everywhere, all powerful or all knowing. He is defeated and roaming like a ticked off ravenous lion to devour flesh, spiritual flesh, your sinful flesh. You are your worst enemy most of the time and then there are minions of demons which follow his commands and we are the intended targets. Yes, the servants of the most High, Christians are the daily victims of these fallen angels. There is a massive hierarchy of dark powers:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; 16 above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints. The problem is that most people are not aware of the believer's authority or power that comes from their inheritance as sons or children of the King of kings. They are also not aware of the war that wages around them, nor do they put on the armor of God through faith.

This work will humbly try to turn the light onto this subject and assist in breaking the chains that have held the Church (Saints) in bondage for 2000 years. The word of God is very clear about this, but it seems the Pastors have been failing to teach victory. As if the Pastors were either asleep or want the sheep to stay as lambs and not grow into mighty warrior Rams. They seem to think that keeping the sheep in chains is good for them. As if they could really protect the sheep anyway without the help of the Holy Spirit.

In this writing we break through the fog of this war and the stronghold of the enemy in the name of Jesus and begin to train warriors with theology of truth on spiritual warfare. We are not arrayed properly in the battle and God is setting things right!

The 1st step is to be set free. This comes through deliverance. Understanding the nature of bondage helps and then advancing against the enemy in our life, in our family, in our friends, and churches through intercessory prayer. Our mission: To bring the Church under the Kings authority, the cornerstone of all victories. This dissertation is not a fix all manual. There is only one book worthy of this, the Holy Bible, the Word of God. Hopefully after we are delivered we begin to serve the true King, Jesus Christ alone. The only way we can be set free and saved is through Jesus Christ. Only Jesus can do these things. He is Lord of all. This will be the beginning of a victorious life! The Church: victorious through Jesus Christ.

But for now, your life, your Church your City may resemble this message from Nahum.

We are living in the worst of conditions. We who belong to the creator of the Universe, but are living like we are from hell. Why is this? Where is the victory my friends? The shepherds or in Greek-Poimen (pastors) are asleep in the light, over worked and targeted by the enemy. Is there any hope for us? Who can deliver us from the despair that we are drowning in? There is victory in Christ alone, but how can we avail this deliverance. We have tried under our own power to escape, yet the chains remain. Here is a solution. The best kept secret in the universe. You can't deliver yourself. Only God can bring victory. Jesus is our only hope! Here is what the Psalmist says:

We are busy in the 21st century with ministry yet everyone is in bondage. Look left or right and many in the church are impregnated with some demonic foothold or even strongholds in their life. (Fear, Pride, Lust, Anger etc.) Most people have no discernment. They only receive what they desire. Do we desire God or things (idols)? The mind is bombarded twenty-four hours per day on cable television and the internet. The flow of garbage is nauseating, yet we will not turn them off or take the technology and use it as a weapon, sending the word of God out as a mighty piercing laser:

For though we walk in the flesh, we don't wage war according to the flesh; 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 5 throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ; 6 and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience will be made full. We are in the storm, yet instead of walking in the eye of the typhoon we try to survive the destructive winds that destroy our lives in our own power. We face the enemy alone instead of allowing God to be the mighty warrior He has shown Himself to be in scripture and our lives. It is time to come up under God's protection by breaking the chains once and for all. Don't forge anymore chains, walk in freedom through Christ.

In the following dissertation and chapters we will begin to set captives free through three main parts:

Firstly, we will set our hearts free by clearly stepping out of the dark by correcting, aligning and adjusting to true biblical theology of spiritual warfare.

Secondly, we will follow up with a discussion of the five-fold Doma (Greek - Domain or House) Gifts (ascension or grace gifts) given by Jesus to His church for the work of ministry and in the true Kingdom of God and the Church that Christ Jesus is building to advance Hid Kingdom.

Thirdly, we will build a case for the Kingdom of God and our King reigning here and now. He will return physically, but is His bride ready and engaged in advancing the Kingdom
