All we are restored in our King. We died in Christ. Sometimes we forget and need to repent. Take your place in His grace and at His right Hand.
Subtitle: At the King’s Right Hand
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1
Seated with Christ
“But God--so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and won- derful and intense love with which He loved us, even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him...]...And He raised us up to- gether with Him and made us sit down to- gether [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere... in Christ Jesus...” Ephesians 2:4-7 (Amp.Bible) (Heb.12:2).
We were in Christ when He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of the Father. Since this is true, Paul encourages us in Colossians 3:1 to seek those things that are at the right hand of God!
1. At His right hand - Righteousness
“...your right hand is filled with righteousness” Psalm 48:10 (see Romans 1:17; 5:17).
At His right hand - Authority
All authority is given to us in Christ...
“...He raised Him from the dead and gave Him the place of supreme honor in Heaven [the right hand of God] - a place that is infinitely superior to any conceivable command, authority, power or control, and which carries with it a name far beyond any name that could ever be used in this world or the world to come. God has placed everything under the power of Christ and has set Him up as head of everything for the Church. For the Church is His body, and in that body lives fully the one who fills the whole wide universe” Eph.1:20-22 (Phillips) (see Matt.28:18-20).
We have been given the right to use that wonderful, powerful name - the name of Christ. In other words, we represent Him.
“...Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name” John 15:16 (see also 2 Corinthians 5:18-19; John 14:13-14).
2. At His right hand - Power
“Your right hand, O Lord, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O Lord shattered the enemy...” Exodus 15:6,12 (see also Psalm 118:15-16; 98:1; 89:13).
We are God’s ambassadors -- his right hand expressed in the world! (see 2 Cor.5:20; Acts 1:8).
3. At His right hand - Strength
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” Isa.41:10 (Heb.4:16).
4. At His right hand - Joy
“...you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand” Psalm 16:11 (see also Ephesians 1:3).
5. At His right hand - Guidance
“...even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast” Psalm 139:10.
6. At His right hand - the Kingdom
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world...’” Matthew 25:34 (see also Psalm 44:3).
