I have watched it a thousand times. Players who are underrated by coaches and scouts. Why does this happen. It is true that those players that showboat get the most attention, but they also cause the most problems. This is why we need to be better at identifying through analytics, the players that have the most impact through character and those things that are hard to put on a stat sheet. Long after a game is over there are players that impact the team by their attitudes of character. They do the things on and off the court that no one else does. They are selfless and humble. They don’t need the bright lights. They are the back bone or heart of the team. Will you as coach recognize them and encourage them? Some of these players will be the reason why your team will win the championship. But win or lose they will be there supporting and being what sports were meant to be, a family where we can grow to maturity and have sense of togetherness and companionship. Aloneness birthed in love for the game and each other.

The invisible contributions can matter the most - Try never to overlook the humble efforts made by members of your team. Identify those instances that others might not see and praise that seemingly simple contribution. It can generate many positive ripples.” www.reach413.com
