"Operation Jericho"

Please bear with me this message today will be longer than normal.

10 years ago the Lord Jesus gave me a prophetic and apostolic message which was called “Operation Jericho. The word started with the command to “Go!” At the time I was sure that the leaders would be listening, but then it wasn’t until recently the “Church of Bacolod” and the rest of Negros began to finally to go and plant Churches in areas that had been denied and to reach out and come out of their four walls to minister to people in great need. Many mountain churches had sprung up years ago, but most had not grown. The key was the lack of understanding of the "Apostolic ministery" and the five-fold ministry as it was given by Jesus through the apostle Paul. Today I will be re-sharing this prophetic message with the Battle of Jericho as the prophetic "blue print" for evangelism and reaching the lost and setting the captives free here in Negros and around the World.

This vision from Jericho is to win and not just to check the little box that says "we did some evangelism" or "witnessed about Jesus to someone today and fed their belly." To win and truly advance the Kingdom of Christ we must sustain operations through to the victory and then occupy. The main problem is teaching. Very few Churches are teaching victory or advancing the Kingdom. They are being led by pastors and not apostolic ministers. Apostles have the grace to lead into battle. They have the gift to execute the Kings orders for His battle plans. They are the master builders of the Church. Apostles govern! (Oversee) They have the Blue Prints of advancing the Kingdom. The prophets and prophetically gifted ministers come to clarify the vision of the Kingdom, to bring the Word. They proclaim or forth-tell the Rhema word to give prophetic direction along side the apostle. The evangelist executes the Gospel along with those who hear the call to witness.

All the outreach ministries are under this apostolic and prophetic push or operation in the last days around the world. As mentioned many times in prior messages, evangelism is not going in other churches with music or joining other ministries like youth groups or YA groups of the same or even different denominations. Although this is good for the unity of the overall local Church, the outreach is strictly preaching the gospel to everyone that has breath outside the Church and its building. The true unity of faith will come when we begin to understand the reformation or better said "restoration" of the apostolic church as Jesus intended and shown in the Book of Ephesians Chapter 4:11-16:

11 He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds*or, pastors and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; 15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ; 16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

One issue which the Holy Spirit is telling me to mention, God does not pick teachers/pastors to lead His army. He picks a general or generals in training, that is His remnant warriors. He "sends" those with the apostolic and prophetic call on their lives. It is about grace and calling. We advance the Kingdom with correct leadership. Pastors trying to be generals will fail and the ministry will go on failing until the right leadership is installed. A pastor can only lead under their grace and anointing. They are not equipped to do more unless submitted to an apostle. They can teach these things from the word, but if they try and go into battle, they will not have the grace for the signs and wonders to follow them in taking and tilling the hard ground. This is spiritual pride, and a very serious truth, they are becoming false teachers in rebellion. If a pastor/teacher continues to push their way into areas they were not sent or created for, they will delay or even prevent victory. Pastors need to be feeding or tending the sheep they have been given. They are very important! This does not mean they can’t work with the apostles or prophets, it means just do what their gifting commands as mentioned in Ezekiel 34:

1 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and tell them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep? 3 You eat the fat, and you clothe yourself with the wool, you kill the fatlings; but you don’t feed the sheep. 4 You haven’t strengthened the diseased, neither have you healed that which was sick, neither have you bound up that which was broken, neither have you brought back that which was driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigor you have ruled over them. 5 They were scattered, because there was no shepherd; and they became food to all the animals of the field, and were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill: yes, my sheep were scattered on all the surface of the earth; and there was no one who searched or sought. 7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word: 8 As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the animals of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and didn’t feed my sheep; 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word: 10 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves anymore; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them. 11 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. 13 I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 I will feed them with good pasture; and on the mountains of the height of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie down in a good fold; and on fat pasture shall they feed on the mountains of Israel. 15 I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down, says the Lord Yahweh. 16 I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them in justice. 17 As for you, O my flock, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats. 18 Does it seem a small thing to you to have fed on the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? and to have drunk of the clear waters, but you must foul the residue with your feet? 19 As for my sheep, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet. 20 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh to them: Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Because you thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the diseased with your horns, until you have scattered them abroad; 22 therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23 I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 I, Yahweh, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them; I, Yahweh, have spoken it. 25 I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land; and they shall dwell securely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. 26 I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in its season; there shall be showers of blessing. 27 The tree of the field shall yield its fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them. 28 They shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shall the animals of the earth devour them; but they shall dwell securely, and no one shall make them afraid. 29 I will raise up to them a plantation for renown, and they shall be no more consumed with famine in the land, neither bear the shame of the nations any more. 30 They shall know that I, Yahweh, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, says the Lord Yahweh. 31 You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, says the Lord Yahweh. The apostle Peter said it like this:

1 Peter Chapter 5

1 I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed. 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly; 3 neither as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock. 4 When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.

5 Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; 7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.WEB

We need to see that pastoring or shepherding is very important to God. What happens if the shepherds are either greedy or doing everything but feeding the sheep? Then we DO NOT see anyone coming to Christ in our congregation. There will be division in the Church and we will end up going everywhere, but into the harvest field. We will wander around without a battle plan or vision for victory. Even our personal vision becomes muddy.

Let me illustrate from a resources manager perspective. If we were in the procurement and contract section of a company who wants to update the technological equipment of their company, would the finance section release funds if proper procurement practice was not followed. The expense always needs to be justified to the shareholders on big purchases that can’t be handled through petty cash funds. Years ago as one of my additional duties in the military, I was the resource officer for our weather squadron, which was command and control for 400 men and women deployed around the globe. Working in the special operations area we were always needing new equipment or weapons. I had access to millions of dollars from the Army and Air Force. When I identified the need I would sit down with the command staff and clarify the reasons for the need. I would develop a presentation which showed the different pros and cons, the different estimates or suppliers and make a proposal to the Air Force or Army. The end results was either brand new night goggles, new weapons, new light weight tentage, or some new computers etc. The reason we never failed to receive our requests was because we did our homework before presenting the need to those who had the money. We never got things that we didn’t need for combat. We tried not waste the tax payers money, those that were actually paying for the expense. A petition to God for something congregation needs is like this. Like an attorney presenting their case before a Judge. When we ask for funding for anything other than for evangelism we really need to justify the expense. We are here to evangelize and make disciples as our 1st priority!

We need to be better stewards of all that God gives us. This includes our spiritual office, gifts and resources and especially those workers God has entrusted to us to lead. If we waste God’s resources we will eventually lose our resources from those that would supply us our logistics. We reap what we sow. As someone wrote “the Church will vote with their pocket book or wallet.” We need to be more accountable to those who give. Not just spreadsheets of data or ledgers, but making sure we are not spending money on wasted things. The best investment in ministry is evangelism. We receive return on this investment in the Kingdom. Where your treasure is your heart is and the gospel is the pearl of great price, Jesus Christ. The great commission, of making disciples in all nations. If we fail to do this, you will have empty buildings with no Church. You will be standing alone saying "where are my sheep?" Yahweh’s answer will be, “I have taken them away from you because you did not feed them and because you failed to go compel them to come in.” He said "go" so let’s go, but let’s execute a battle plan rather than going half-cocked into battle. To make disciples is intentional and not accidental. We must execute the plan.

We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony.” Last night I had a vivid reminder of this. Before I share this prophetic story, I will share a prophetic exhortation: “You have a testimony too! Why are you not sharing it? There are millions of Christians around the world who need to hear what God is doing in your life and billions more who need to receive Jesus. How, through your tests have you overcome? Please share these words with us. You have within you a weapon that God wants to use to set the Church on fire and raise up the afflicted and set captives free. Just by a simple testimony, God will use you in a mighty way. Cast off fear through the love of God, in the name of Jesus. The word “shy” is a deceptive lie from the enemy that says that your shyness is normal. “Shyness” is fear in disguise, be set free to open your mouth with your testimony. The blood of the Lamb has set you free for this purpose. Here in Facebook you can share freely what God has done. When you go to work, at the mall shopping, getting gas, wherever you go bring your testimony and open your mouth and allow God to move mightily.”

The story starts 30 years ago. When I told God I didn’t want to be a missionary to the Philippines. Yes, I said “no” to God. Now you guessed it, I’m living in the Philippines as a ministry worker now. Do you think for one second God doesn’t know how to get you to obey? Sometimes we think we are so smart. We make deals with God, we plead with God, but in the end, it is just best to obey, rather than be miserable. I admit it this “David” was scared. The missionary field was my Goliath. I was afraid of failure. I had a puny faith, a Microscopic faith. What about you?

Over the next 30 years, God, using everything within His love, brought me to a place of humility. He brought me to my Jericho. Wednesday of this week we stormed Jericho. (Our Spiritual Jericho.) God did not send me alone, many volunteers joined me at the mountain fortress where many youth were delivered from different bondages. The stronghold of the enemy was destroyed. “The young boy has become a man of God!”, a Prophetic word from Pastor Edman Locsin last night. Jesus said to me too, fear not, be strong and courageous just like He said to Joshua. He is saying the same to you!

Now this story may sound somewhat abstract, but I will clarify the more shadowy points. You know the story of Joshua, a faithful servant of God to Moses. Moses’ armor bearer or wingman. As Joshua trained to be that field general, fear was the biggest problem he would face. As they crossed the desert and he saw the Red Sea parted, he thought maybe someday God would use him like that. His faith grew. By the time they arrived just outside Jericho, Joshua was a changed man and he was the leader. His faith was bigger than a mustard seed. Jesus had appeared to him and gave him his marching orders. Actually the orders were more like a symphony for his musicians to play. The great composer of the universe gave Joshua a musical score for a heavenly victory party on Earth. If Joshua obeyed, without fear, the victory would come. Let’s read what happened:

The Fall of Jericho

Joshua 5:

13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?" 14 "Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, "What message does my Lord have for his servant?" 15 The commander of the LORD's army replied, "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so.

Joshua 6:

1 Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. 2 Then the LORD said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in." 6 So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant of the LORD and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it." 7 And he ordered the people, "Advance! March around the city, with the armed guard going ahead of the ark of the LORD." 8 When Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the LORD went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the ark of the LORD's covenant followed them. 9 The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark. All this time the trumpets were sounding. 10 But Joshua had commanded the people, "Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!" 11 So he had the ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. Then the people returned to camp and spent the night there. 12 Joshua got up early the next morning and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. 13 The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets went forward, marching before the ark of the LORD and blowing the trumpets. The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the trumpets kept sounding. 14 So on the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days. 15 On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. 16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the people, "Shout! For the LORD has given you the city! 17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent. 18 But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. 19 All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the LORD and must go into his treasury." 20 When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city. 21 They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it--men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys. Here is the whole story. A few months ago I was asked to preach at a youth camp by a Pastor Friend. This would be the 1st time I ever gave a 5 hour seminar. I had given 3 minute testimonies before, I had taught bible studies and shared for hours with people one on one, but never an all day spiritual warfare seminar on praise and worship and prayer, cults and the occult, plus deliverance. Back in the military I used to train warriors, so I see now God was working in those days to hone me, subtly teaching me. Even though I had said “No” to going to the P.I. He didn’t need to use a whale to get this servant back on track. He just used everyday life to sharpen me and humble me. The pain was great at times, especially after I was severely injured in combat. I had fallen from a cliff, and found out I was not ready to fly yet. My back was broken, although it would take many years before it was discovered. The hairline fracture was hidden on the XRAY. Only the symptoms persisted.

Anyway, I’m up on the mountain with a team of evangelists reaching the young people and the enemy was not happy. As we were storming the gates of Jericho the enemy had sent a tornado to hit my family. God allowed it, but He did protect them from harm. Just as I was preaching on the occult and bringing deliverance to these 70 young people there, the storm hit my home. The trees were tore up, but the only significant damage occured just down the street, where two cement poles were tipped over. These are the ones that were supposed to withstand super typhoon winds. There was a brown out accompanying the damage too which lasted for hours. When we arrived home at 6pm the children were shaken, but their faith was increased as they prayed and they saw God be their shield. Their simple prayer, “Jesus help us, in Jesus name amen!”

I have come a long way out of my rebellion as a prodigal son. God has been there for each step, but just like me, He is with you. He will not leave you alone. You are His weapon. He is working through you and will reach the lost and set those captives free, if you will humble yourself.

One last word, in corporate worship meeting sometime ago, there was a very interesting anointing, one person was screaming at the top of their lungs. I had rebuked the spirit of pride from any influence in our meeting and just then a Spirit of holy travailing or weeping echoed so loud it could be heard over the guitars and drums, for the whole 90 minutes of worship. Just at the end I asked the Holy Spirit what that was and He said Holy Sorrow, for all those who are dying around the world without Jesus. God was using these cries as a weapon to shake up the spirit realm. When the meeting was over I went up to the pastor to share this word and just as I said it was Holy Sorrow or weeping and He said Holy travailing, the anointing fell on us both, giving us confirmation.

Folks your testimony is what the Earth needs to hear. The Father wants none to perish without Jesus. The Spirit is Weeping loudly. Travailing! Will you "go" and tell them what God has done in your life. Here is a song I’m being told to write right now:

Weep by Dave Bessey

V1. Another takes their last breath

Were is victory over death?

They are falling like flies

The enemy’s pouring out lies

V2.Who will tell them?

How will they know?

They can choose life

Washed whiter than snow

Chorus

Weep for the lost.Weep!

Get up carry your cross

Today open your mouth

Let your actions soar

Bring relief to the poor

Help them open the door

Bring the truth, pour out His love

If you don’t they will not see or hear

Dump your fear

And weep!

There is only one way

Receive your victory today

Many are dying without Jesus

And walking without Him too

The Lamb shed His blood for all

Not just a few in the pew

When we weep for the lost

We will help them count the cost

Get on your knees and weep

How wide and how deep

Is God’s love through you

Chorus

Weep, Weep, Weep!

Holy Holy Holy is the Lamb

He shed His blood

Let it come like a flood

wash us in your blood! X7

He said go and make disciples! Matthew 28:18-19

REDCELL SPIRITUAL WARFARE OPERATIONS – OPLAN OPERATION “JERICHO”

MESSAGE 07172011001 (Message One)

From: Commander RedCell Operations (Sentinel)

As per higher headquarters directive (Holy Spirit), the Books of Joshua and Isaiah, the following operation is based on guidance on “Outreach” ministries for the area of Negros Occidental, namely the areas bounded by a line from Bago to Murcia to Silay and the Bacolod City Metropolitan area. The operation can be replicated elsewhere as required. The operation is given as a prophetic message and challenge to encourage the local Church and advance the Kingdom of God in Negros and the Church Worldwide.

We are the Army of God and responsible for conducting assault operations in attacking the enemy (Making Disciples and setting them free from bondages) in our “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Outermost parts of the world.” What have we been waiting for? The enemy will not rollover and die. He will not give up his strongholds without a fight. He is not omnipresent or omniscient (all powerful), only our Awesome God and King, Jesus is! The enemy has only so many demons to fight with and we are in the billions of warriors (human and angelic). We need to unite and advance against the enemy-- Now! Take no prisoners, all to be saved and set free in the name of Jesus. We advance. The example we see in scripture is our OPLAN and battle cry:

Isaiah 41:1 "Be silent before me, you islands! Let the nations renew their strength! Let them come forward and speak; let us meet together at the place of judgment. Isa 41:2 "Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service [fn]? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with his bow. Isa 41:3 He pursues them and moves on unscathed, by a path his feet have not traveled before. Isa 41:4 Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD--with the first of them and with the last--I am he." Isa 41:5 The islands have seen it and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward; Isa 41:6 each helps the other and says to his brother, "Be strong!"

Isaiah 42:1 "Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations. Isa 42:2 He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. Isa 42:3 A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; Isa 42:4 he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope." Isa 42:5 This is what God the LORD says--he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: Isa 42:6 "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, Isa 42:7 to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. Isa 42:8 "I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols. Isa 42:9 See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you." Isa 42:10 Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. Isa 42:11 Let the desert and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops. Isa 42:12 Let them give glory to the LORD and proclaim his praise in the islands. Isa 42:13 The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.

What are we doing? We have had no battle plan for sometime, though it was written long before we were born. We attack at random and then pull back and retreat so the enemy moves back in with minions and we wonder why we are not winning? We need to attack, advance and OCCUPY. Using the example of Joshua against the City of Jericho we will advance in the same manor. As you read the account below think of your City and region. What are you doing to advance he Kingdom of God? Are you waiting for God to show up, You are the Army! You are the way God is advancing His Kingdom, one soul and City at a time:

Joshua 3:1 Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. Jos 3:2 After three days the officers went throughout the camp, Jos 3:3 giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Jos 3:4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it." Jos 3:5 Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." Jos 3:6 Joshua said to the priests, "Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people." So they took it up and went ahead of them. Jos 3:7 And the LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. Jos 3:8 Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: 'When you reach the edge of the Jordan's waters, go and stand in the river.'" Jos 3:9 Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God. Jos 3:10 This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites. Jos 3:11 See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. Jos 3:12 Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. Jos 3:13 And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the LORD--the Lord of all the earth--set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap." Jos 3:14 So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. Jos 3:15 Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water's edge, Jos 3:16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. Jos 3:17 The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.

Joshuah 5:1 Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the LORD had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until we had crossed over, their hearts melted and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites. Jos 5:2 At that time the LORD said to Joshua, "Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again." Jos 5:3 So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the Israelites at Gibeath Haaraloth. Jos 5:4 Now this is why he did so: All those who came out of Egypt--all the men of military age--died in the desert on the way after leaving Egypt. Jos 5:5 All the people that came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the desert during the journey from Egypt had not. Jos 5:6 The Israelites had moved about in the desert forty years until all the men who were of military age when they left Egypt had died, since they had not obeyed the LORD. For the LORD had sworn to them that they would not see the land that he had solemnly promised their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.Jos 5:7 So he raised up their sons in their place, and these were the ones Joshua circumcised. They were still uncircumcised because they had not been circumcised on the way. Jos 5:8 And after the whole nation had been circumcised, they remained where they were in camp until they were healed. Jos 5:9 Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you." So the place has been called Gilgal to this day. Jos 5:10 On the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, while camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, the Israelites celebrated the Passover. Jos 5:11 The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land: unleavened bread and roasted grain. Jos 5:12 The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate of the produce of Canaan. Jos 5:13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?" Jos 5:14 "Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, "What message does my Lord have for his servant?" Jos 5:15 The commander of the LORD's army replied, "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so.

Joshuah 6:1 Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Jos 6:2 Then the LORD said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. Jos 6:3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Jos 6:4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. Jos 6:5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in." Jos 6:6 So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant of the LORD and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it." Jos 6:7 And he ordered the people, "Advance! March around the city, with the armed guard going ahead of the ark of the LORD." Jos 6:8 When Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the LORD went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the ark of the LORD's covenant followed them. Jos 6:9 The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark. All this time the trumpets were sounding. Jos 6:10 But Joshua had commanded the people, "Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!" Jos 6:11 So he had the ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. Then the people returned to camp and spent the night there. Jos 6:12 Joshua got up early the next morning and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. Jos 6:13 The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets went forward, marching before the ark of the LORD and blowing the trumpets. The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the trumpets kept sounding. Jos 6:14 So on the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days. Jos 6:15 On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. Jos 6:16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the people, "Shout! For the LORD has given you the city! Jos 6:17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent. Jos 6:18 But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. Jos 6:19 All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the LORD and must go into his treasury." Jos 6:20 When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city. Jos 6:21 They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it--men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys. Jos 6:22 Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, "Go into the prostitute's house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her." Jos 6:23 So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother and brothers and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel. Jos 6:24 Then they burned the whole city and everything in it, but they put the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of the LORD's house. Jos 6:25 But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho--and she lives among the Israelites to this day. Jos 6:26 At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath: "Cursed before the LORD is the man who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho: "At the cost of his firstborn son will he lay its foundations; at the cost of his youngest will he set up its gates."Jos 6:27 So the LORD was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.
